TransUSA Exchange connects people from around the world interested in working in the U.S. with industry-leading companies.


Our team has extensive experience in international exchange programs and a thorough knowledge of the United States Department of State regulations governing the programs. We take pride in the unique and dedicated service that we provide to preserve our programs' integrity and quality.

Internship Program

Internship programs are designed to allow international professionals to come to the United States to gain exposure to American culture and to receive training in American business practices in their chosen occupational field. Participants receive invaluable international experience while living in one of the most diverse and exciting countries in the world. The maximum duration of any internship through our Internship Program in any hospitality field is twelve (12) months. Upon completion of their exchange programs, Participants are expected to return to their home countries.

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in university or have graduated from university no more than 12 months prior to his or her program start date
  • Over the age of 18
  • Have a conversational level of English
  • Your Internship must be in a field directly related to your field of studies
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to learn
  • Committed to fulfilling job duties for duration of program
  • Have a minimum of $500USD available to support yourself upon first arrival in the United States
  • Be able to prove that you will return home at the end of the program by showing ties to your home country.


An important goal of this program is that participants will return to their home countries and share their experiences with their countrymen.

The following objectives will also be met through participation on the program:


  • Introduce international professionals to American culture and business practices by living and working with other Americans;
  • Provide professionals the opportunity to develop their skills with hands-on application in their occupational field;


TransUSA Exchange Intern and Trainee participants can select programs based in the following fields:


  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Management, Business, Commerce and Finance
  • The Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, and Industrial Occupations

Training Program

The Trainee Program is for individuals who have a degree or professional certificate from a post secondary institution and at least one year work experience in the related field OR that has at least 5 years of work experience in the occupational field in which they are seeking training. Intern/Trainee participants must be fluent English in order to participate effectively in their Trainee Program.

Summer Work & Travel

The Work Travel Program gives you the opportunity to spend up to 4 months working and traveling in the U.S. during your summer vacation.

Spend your summer break in the United States. You’ll come back with memories that will last a lifetime and work experience that will make your CV stand out from the pack.


Experience an amazing culture; make new friends from around the world; improve your English skills; immerse yourself in a diverse environment where you will learn, grow while working and learning from the top industry leaders in the U.S.

Work Travel Program Highlights

  • Seasonal work in the U.S. for up to 4 months
  • Wide variety of industries including ski resorts, amusement parks, national parks, fast food restaurants, retail stores, and more
  • Paid positions such as waiters, cashiers, kitchen help, housekeeping staff, front desk personnel, and retail
  • Management of visa and administrative details
  • Assistance with housing and travel arrangements
  • Continuous support and 24-hour emergency line

Do You Already Have a Job in the United States?

TransUSA Exchange can help you apply for your J-1 visa through one of our partners in your home country if you already have a job arranged in the U.S. or would like to arrange your own job.

What does your host organization expect from you?

WORK HARD. Your host organization expects you to be hard‐working!


BE PUNCTUAL. Always arrive at the host site ten minutes early!


BE RESPECTFUL. Treat your co-workers and managers with respect. You should listen carefully to what they say. Accept new challenges with a smile!


DRESS APPROPRIATELY. Your clothes and your appearance should be clean and presentable. Your host organization will expect you to have good hygiene and be dressed appropriately.


COMMUNICATE. Always ask questions when you don't understand. If you are having a problem with your program, discuss it with your supervisor. If you are not comfortable doing this, contact CCI Greenheart, and we will help you.


SPEAK ENGLISH. Your program is an opportunity to polish your English skills. Your host organization is not responsible for improving your spoken English. Opportunities to practice are all around you!


HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE. Consider your program an adventure! Try to look at the positive aspects of every situation.


FOLLOW WORKPLACE PROCEDURE. If your host organization has special procedures that all employees follow (for example, a dress code or personal hygiene requirements), you are expected to follow them. As an intern/trainee, you are a member of a team!
